Apparently on the first of August at 8:14 AM Turelio deleted the Category:Square between Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 4, 7 and 8 (Bauhaus-Universität Weimar).

I would probably have never noticed if I hadn't still had a browser tab open which presented the message "This page does not exist. [...] Turelio deleted page Category:Square between Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 4, 7 and 8 (Bauhaus-Universität Weimar) ((incorrectly named) duplicate, [...]" upon loading the former category page.

Isn't there a proper procedure that allows the creator of a category to comment on the proposal to delete the page? I find this hard to believe. I cannot find any hint pointing to the deletion in my notifications, on my talk page or anywhere else.

The deletion does not even seem to appear on Turelios contributions page. Is this a deliberate attempt to leave no traces of the deletion?

As for the comment on the former category page:
There exists no other categories that could be regarded as "duplicate". Also I cannot see why the category should have been "incorrectly named". This category contained images that were taken on a small plaza/square adjacent to Bauhausstraße and Geschwister-Scholl-Straße on the grounds of the Bauhaus University Weimar just West of the university's main building which does not appear to have been given a name. This square is used by the university to display art installations, information placards and the like and I had intended to add more images to it.

TOMMES-WIKI apparently removed the images from the category about two hours before Turelio deleted it. As if TOMMES-WIKI had somehow anticipated that the category would be deleted soon thereafter ..?

The deletion by Túrelio was a proper administrative action following the {{Badname}} tagging by TOMMES-WIKI. Category deletions are logged in deletion logs, not user contributions, so the lack of a contributions entry is normal. The deleted category was redundant given existing subcategories under Category:Geschwister-Scholl-Straße (Weimar).

There is no indication of wrongdoing or an attempt to hide the deletion. Conspiracy theories about secret deletions are unhelpful and baseless. Users should apply Assume Good Faith and address any concerns on the involved users' talk pages or at COM:UNDEL.

@KaiKemmann: it is almost never appropriate to report an experienced user, let alone an admin, via COM:AN/V, which is for acts that are either deliberately intended to damage the project or which are at least very close to that. If you have a conduct complaint about an experienced user, and have not been able to resolve it by normal discussion (in this case, you seem to have made no effort to reach out to Túrelio, you didn't even get his account name right!) it belongs at COM:AN/U and, as indicated on that page, the user whose conduct is being discussed should be given appropriate notice of the discussion. - Jmabel ! talk 05:09, 9 August 2025 (UTC)
