•  Weak support This is a classic example of a good-faith user who scaled up too quickly, didn't fully internalize Commons standards, and is now caught between defending themselves and trying to rebuild trust. I believe there's value in giving them a strictly conditional second chance, such as upload caps paired with visible cleanup progress. An indefinite upload block risks turning away someone who could eventually become a strong contributor if properly guided. A narrow unblock (e.g. 5–10 uploads/day, enforced cleanup ratio) allows us to test that hypothesis while minimizing risk. --Jonatan Svensson Glad (talk) 16:59, 5 August 2025 (UTC)

SecretName101 has uploaded 1000+ copyvios since two blocks for copyvios, and 1000+ duplicates (most of them duplicates of his past uploads) since an additional block for duplicates. He refuses to commit to any specific plan to clean up the hundreds of thousands of improperly curated images he previously uploaded. His responses indicate that he does not understand why his behavior is a problem or why the community needs him to change it; they include outright denials of receiving warnings that I have documented. My previous estimate of ~1000 copyvios was based on the number of DR messages on your talk page. To try to get a more accurate estimate: per Special:DeletedContributions, since the second copyvio unblock on 01:06, September 12, 2017, you have uploaded just over 13,000 files that have been subsequently deleted. From a random sample of 65 files (5 from each thousand), 36 (55%) were duplicates, 15 (23%) were copyvios, 8 (12%) were no-license-since or similar, 3 (5%) had quality issues like blurriness, and 3 (5%) were other reasons such as non-copyright G7. This rate implies a higher number of ~3000 copyvios during that period (probably because many DRs have more than one file). Pi.1415926535 (talk) 21:17, 7 August 2025 (UTC)

Request for file replacement: File:Hidaka in Kochi Prefecture Ja.svg

Hello, I would like to request the replacement of the following file due to incorrect municipal classification in the map.

The current file contains outdated or incorrect color coding for certain municipalities in Kōchi Prefecture, Japan. A corrected version has been uploaded under the name: File:Hidaka in Kochi Prefecture Ja.svg (or a new file name if renamed).

Could an administrator please review and consider replacing the original file with the corrected version? Thank you.

Could admin take a look at File:240816 서울월드컵경기장 (김영광).jpg? It was nominated for deletion by an IP; however, the DR syntax on the file's page is malformed and a corresponding DR discussion was never created. The IP is claiming the file was uploaded by a sock puppet on Korean Wikipedia, but the file was uploaded by a Commons administrator named Explicit, whose also an English Wikipedia administrator, as "own work" with corroborating EXIF data; so, the claim that this is fair use seems misguided at best and perhaps retaliatory at worst. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:37, 7 August 2025 (UTC)

QIBot not working

I sumbitted three images for QI assessment on 2 August 2025. All three were assessed as being QIs within 24 hours. QIBot processed the assessment on two of them, but the third has been stuck in the candidate list for a few days. The relevant image is File:Two saints - St Swithun upon Kingsgate, Winchester.jpg. Problem with Wiki Commons Photo Challenge

Currently the categories open for voting are listed as June 2025, but those are the July categories (ie. "waterside structures" and "vending machines"). The categories for June were actually "Vapour" and "One stands out". Those photos have completely disappeared. Can you please resurrect that competition for voting? Requesting attention to a CfD

Re: Commons:Categories for discussion/2025/07/Category:1880 Pioneer Square (and the parellel Commons:Categories for discussion/2025/07/Category:1865 Pioneer Square and Commons:Categories for discussion/2025/07/Category:1914 Pioneer Square, which lack significant discussion of their own, but have exactly parallel issues): I don't see any sign that these will get further participants. I'm an involved party, so I can't close them.

While I still see no need for these particular "by year" categories, I'm willing to concede on the point of their existence, but would really like to see the names changed to be parallel to many thousands of similar "by year" categories (and also to deal with the fact that Seattle's "Pioneer Square" is not the only place of that name). E.g. I would like to see Category:1880 Pioneer Square renamed as either Category:1880 in Pioneer Square (Seattle), Category:1880 in Pioneer Square, Seattle, Washington or something very similar. Leaving categories weirdly named like this is likely to beget more similarly weirdly named categories.
